The Conference
Make Plans Now to Attend the Fall 2012 CAEP Conference
Come to Crystal City, Virginia, on September 13-15, 2012, for the Fall CAEP Conference. Sessions will begin at 8:00 on Thursday morning, September 13th.
CAEP conferences assist institutions that are preparing for an accreditation review. Experienced teacher education faculty, TEAC and NCATE staff share accreditation standards and procedures with attendees. Individuals directly involved in preparation for accreditation review and those new to NCATE or TEAC accreditation pathways of Continuous Improvement, Inquiry Brief, and/or Transformation Initiatives will benefit greatly from this professional development experience.
Beginning last fall, the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE), the Teacher Education Accreditation Council (TEAC), and AACTE began to host this joint conference as the unified accreditation body of the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP). Major topics to be covered at the conference include standards and principles of accreditation, details on the various pathways to accreditation, reviewer’s expectations regarding candidate effectiveness in P-12 student learning, the program review process, and the development of assessment systems. A new focus of the merged accreditation body (CAEP) will be to build institutional capacity to raise the quality of the evidence submitted for accreditation.
This three-day conference is an opportunity to learn from experts, share thoughts with colleagues, and discover what works with institutions. Registration details will be posted on the TEAC website, NCATE website, and CAEP-site.org. We hope to see you in September.
