AERA Invitation to NCATE SCDE Personnel to Join SIG on Accreditation Research
June 12, 2009

NCATE members are invited to join the AERA Special Interest Group, Academic Audit Research in Teacher Education (#174). The purpose of the SIG is to provide a forum for presenting research associated with the NCATE, TEAC, or state review processes. The SIG provides a unique venue for presenting program research and the related evaluation instruments and quality control systems associated with program accreditation and approval. This year’s research theme is “transforming a faculty into a learning community,” and paper proposals for the 2010 AERA Annual Meeting that address this theme or are otherwise associated with the accreditation or state review processes may be submitted to the SIG. The deadline for AERA paper proposals for the Annual Meeting is July 15, 2009.

AERA members may join the SIG by going to:

https://www.aera.net/login.aspx?ReturnURL=/MemberPortal/Default.aspx

Log in (if you have forgotten your AERA membership ID number, there is a link to email it to you), then click on the “Sig Memberships” under “Profile and Member Benefits” and click on the blue “Purchase Additional Sig Memberships” link above the Sig Memberships section of the page.  The Academic Audit Research in Teacher Education SIG will be the first one listed. For additional information, contact Todd Kent, SIG Chair (twkent@princeton.edu) or Christine Gorowara, SIG Program Chair (cargoro@udel.edu ).
